Description

This shirt captures one of the most remarkable moments in space exploration history—the very first close-up image of another planet. On November 28, 1964, NASA’s Mariner 4 lifted off from Earth, bound for Mars. When it finally transmitted data back to Earth in 1965, computers of the time couldn’t quickly process and display the image. So a team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, led by Richard “Dick” Grumm, turned raw binary data into visual art: they printed out the 1’s and 0’s on ticker tape, glued it to graph paper, and colored each number by hand using pastels based on a brightness key.

This unisex tee proudly displays that iconic hand-colored Martian image on the chest—and for the true space history nerds, the original brightness key used by Grumm’s team is printed on the sleeve. It’s not just a shirt, it’s wearable data.

Made from 100% organic ring-spun cotton, this tee is ultra-soft, breathable, and built to last. Ethically sourced and eco-conscious, it’s the perfect fusion of space history and sustainable fashion.
