We wanted to give a shoutout to The Purple Physicist, Emily LaPrime. I became friends with Emily while we were both working on our physics degrees in Louisiana. There is something about the vague difficulty of Griffiths’ Introduction to Electrodynamics that brings future scientists together. And well, Emily was the only person who could write notes I could understand. This was very helpful when preparing for the pain and stress caused by one of Dr. Norwood’s exams. Dr. Norwood’s strategy is to treat undergrads like grad students, teach math a few levels above where everyone is at, and to always push you to achieve more than you thought you could. So, having Emily as a friend during these times helped me so much, not just as a scientist, but as a human searching for purpose and meaning on this pale blue dot we call Earth.
Emily has that powerful ability to use her creativity with science and the arts. And when she saw some of our early designs at Aerospace Suits, she grabbed her camera and took some amazing photos for us.
Anyone interested in working with Emily should check out her website. I highly recommend anyone looking for high quality photos to hire Emily to work with you. Also, make sure to check out her Instagram page. The future of science requires immense creativity and Emily has an abundance of creativity needed to progress humankind forward, as a scientist and an artist.
